Figure

Figure is a intended to be a highly portable application framework that provides a common architecture to programs regardless of their programming language, operating system, or hardware platform. Some other systems that have similar goals are GLib (for C programs), the Java Virtual Machine (for Java programs), and various other programming language support libraries.

Figure's distinguishing characteristic is that it is a framework rather than a library: it suggests ways of structuring Figure-based programs in order to make them portable to a wide variety of systems and still take advantage of a simple interface to host resources. This consistent internal structure makes it easier to combine components from different Figure-based programs.

There is not yet any working software, though you may want to view instructions for obtaining the latest Figure sources, browse the ChangeLog, or the raw directory contents.
