The Ocean software system is a branch of Ian Piumarta's COLA (Combined Object-Lambda Architecture). Please study the COLA documentation to understand the motivation and basis for Ocean. Ocean closely tracks COLA development, and adds features needed by other FIG software projects that may or may not be added to the main COLA sources.

Ocean is a software platform; it encompasses features typically divided between programming languages, system libraries, and the kernel.
